Cut Down
In the anime, Lelouch is given the Geass ability of absolute obedience with seemingly little to no draw back. In this setting I will be making so using the Geass on someone will considerably zap his already rather limited physical ability meaning over use or carelessness could result in total blackout.

Personality
Lelouch is a young man building up many faces of presentation. All, on some level, are true.

First and foremost is the Lelouch seen on face value. To say he was a regular student of a prestigious private academy would be quite far from the truth as in fact Lelouch is well established as a frighteningly intelligent thinker, charming and witty, if a little bored with everyday life from time to time. Mood dictates a lot of his actions and attitude toward people, but as vice president of the student council generally he is considered social, friendly and quite close to being a "normal" student enjoying the simple moments in life.

Beneath that is the torn and cracked childhood where he was once a prince to the Britannia empire. The murder of his mother which also left his sister blinded and crippled made him revoke that title. Regardless, Lelouch Lamperogue is in fact Lelouch Vi Britannia, but due to the cold nature of his father regarding his mother's demise he has developed an intense hatred toward the empire of Britannia so much that he would wish it's ultimate downfall.

Which is where further aspects of Lelouch's inner works really come into their own. Intelligent is a bit of an understatement, in fact Lelouch is an unbelievably sharp strategist and planner. Granted the power of ultimate command from a mysterious witch, C.C, he adopted a masked alter ego known only as Zero intent on breaking down Britannia and building a better world for his younger sister. Manipulative and scheming, Lelouch utilizing his mental skills with such talent that he can often foresee his opponents' (and sometimes allies) reactions several moves down the line allowing him to puppet them into the most ideal situation and outcome for him. A man of ideals and high risk from gambling, Lelouch really does strive to get the very best results.

The power of the Geass has twisted him. Power corrupts and good intentions can go askew as a result. Truly, Lelouch's image of the future was always a well intended one, but often the idea of the ends justifying the means blinds him. Power can control the user and brilliant as Lelouch may be he is still a boy with much still to learn. Leading a rebellion is not something one can easily pull away from and every moment Lelouch makes has to be at least double guessed by him if not more. Lelouch the student can never cross over into Zero's realm, like Zero can never fall into a state of casual simplicity.

Truly, Lelouch long stepped from the knife's edge to the razor's and shows no signs of stopping until his goal is achieved. Whatever the cost. For the world around him is corrupt. War is still war, death is still death and innocent people still bleed, be it at the hands of his enemies of his own. In many ways he is a doomed young man and perhaps should be pitied. However, he would never entertain such a thought and has no time for such things.

Writing Sample:
Check mate.

The dark-haired man rarely allowed for check in his games, it left opens for escape, backtracking and amending of mistakes. No, when it came to the final strike Lelouch didn't care for cat-and-mouse games. Execution fell heavily and he was not prone to mercy. Mercy was not something Lelouch could afford. Correction, Zero could not allow it.

As Lelouch, however, he had to be more accommodating, allow himself to wave the white flag and admit defeat when backed into a corner and forced to don a headband with cat ears. But that was the life he wished to preserve, for Nunnally's sake. Whatever the cost. Whatever he had to become. No matter how bloodstained he became.

Unlike a knight he once knew he could not afford to be a compassionate solider. Those kind of men ended up dead and their cause lost. Dead men carry no legacy.

"Well then," he spoke with a smile "I believe that brings our game to a close today. Thank you for your time."

A casual game of chess was now like shooting fish in a barrel compared to mobilizing and directing real troops to the battlefield and slipping out of far too many near-death experiences than he liked to recall. But one person could still best him at chess. The same person he was facing more and more on the real battlefield.

The warm-up was over, time to prepare for the main event where the stakes were higher and of the many options Lelouch had, failure was never one of them.
